THE KIGER HORSE
“You would kill 10 good saddle horses to catch one of the duns on Beatty butte”
Quote from Brain Pfeiffer, Circle S Ranch, Cave Junction, OR
OUR PHILOSOPHY
We raise our horses in a herd environment on open pasture for ideal social and physical development. Young horses are exposed to handling including regular trims, ponying behind more experienced horses, and learning groundwork basics before work under saddle starts at 4 years old. The combination of having the freedom to move and develop naturally coupled with optimum nutrition and a sensible start as physical maturity allows produces a horse sound in mind and body.

About the Breed
Kigers are the descendants of the original horses brought over by the conquistadors. They had remained genetically isolated for centuries in the rugged terrain of southeast Oregon, and because of this they retain many Spanish horse traits.
